RACHEL LAHLUM PHOTOGRAPHY
I think I have the best job in the world. Since 2012, I’ve photographed over 350 weddings, 250 engagement sessions, hundreds of family portraits, dozens of corporate events, and headshots for over 3,000 individuals.
This is always a little surprising, but I’m a self-taught photographer. My undergraduate degrees are in Writing and Mass Media Communication (Concordia College – Moorhead, 2008-2012). After completing my degrees, I began building my photography business while also working as a project manager and creative producer for a Minneapolis meetings and media production company.
My photography bookings increased over the years, and eventually I was able to convert my passion of photography into a sustainable business that supports my family. I bring my experience in communication, organization, attention to detail, creative production, and customized planning to each photo shoot I schedule.
Work aside, I have an amazing family. I love animals – we have two cats and a dog. Cooking and baking, and spending time with my husband and daughter are how I unwind every day. My getaways are hiking Minnesota’s North Shore, reading a good fiction novel, sipping a cappuccino, and adding to my weird houseplant collection.
Hello, my name is Allison! I’m a wedding and portrait photographer based in Minneapolis. I’ve been a professional photographer since 2013, attended college for photography, and have experience photographing over 200 weddings.
My goal is to capture you as the story of your wedding day as it unfolds, while also helping you feel relaxed and in good hands. My photography is clean and bright, with true-to-life styles and colors. I love outdoors and natural lighting, but am always prepared to add lighting in dark venues.
I place an emphasis on storytelling through photos. During portraits, I’ll guide you through poses and work through our shot list, to ensure nothing is missed and that we have fun. During your intimate moments, I shoot with a photojournalistic eye – capturing the real emotions on your wedding day, while not drawing attention to myself. Emotion is what brings your wedding photos to life, and preserving those fun and most intimate moments are what I love.
