Janna & Craig | A Celestial Wedding at the Bell Museum Planetarium – St. Paul, Minnesota
I was so excited to photograph this wedding. First off, the Bell Museum is a new venue in the Twin Cities, and more than that, I knew it would be a lighting challenge. I toured the venue in advance, and determined that the entire day would need off-camera lighting to get the quality and style I wanted for Janna and Craig’s photos. My favorite technique for the day was lighting the Planetarium ceremony — I used two off-camera lights with snoots (think of it like a very narrow spotlight). The ceremony photos are well-lit so you can see faces clearly, but the Planetarium’s night sky projection colors were not compromised by my lighting gear. Overall, I’m very proud of the way these turned out, and I’d gladly shoot weddings here again and again!
