Capturing the 2025 Harvest Social was a joy – a celebration of local food, local farmers, and the community that supports them. Hosted by the Mill City Farmer’s Market in the outdoor courtyard of the Mill City Museum, the event was a bright and colorful evening that showcased the heart of the market: food, community, and fun.
A Courtyard Alive with Color and Community
The courtyard was transformed into a welcoming, vibrant gathering space, with bright yellow linen table runners and locally-grown floral centerpieces creating warmth and cheer. Guests arrived for social hour, enjoying signature cocktails and passed hors d’ouevres, meeting friends, farmers, and market supporters.
Local folk music (featuring upright bass, acoustic guitars, a banjo, and vocalists) filled the space, giving the evening a joyful, communal soundtrack.
Family-Style Dining: The Heart of the Event
Behind the scenes, chef Annette Colón and team prepared an excellent farm-to-table meal. Guests shared garden salads, grain bowls, antipasto plates and more, served family style.
The family-style dining experience is truly the heart of Harvest Social, and the heart of the Mill City Farmer’s market itself. Shared food across the table reinforces the market’s mission: building community, connection, and support for the people who grow and produce our local food. Guests bid enthusiastically, knowing their contributions support the Mill City Farmers Market Charitable fund, which expands access to local food, funds grants for family farms, and strengthens a sustainable local food economy.
