2. The Beach Club
Built in the early 20th century, this elegant club is a stone’s throw from beautiful lake Bde Maka Ska — and you can watch the sun set from it’s spacious deck. Large arched windows flood the space with sunlight, and a grand staircase gracefully sweeps from the second level.
3. The Blaisdell
Built in 1915, this historic mansion has been a space for weddings since the 1930s. The bright and airy facility features high ceilings and a freshly remodeled ballroom, making it a perfect backdrop for both portraits and events.
4. CanCan Wonderland
Yes! You can get married here! Can Can Wonderland is generally known as an arcade bar and mini golf bar — but the building used to be a canning factory! Now it’s host to a kaleidoscope of murals, weird art installations, mini golf, and neon. Getting married here is about the party!
5. Cafe Alma
This Northeast Minneapolis restaurant is all about the experience of dining. With a rotating seasonal menu, couples hosting their wedding here can opt for the private dining rooms, or an entire restaurant buyout.
6. Courtyard by Marriott Downtown

8. The Depot – Minneapolis
Originally called the Old Milwaukee Road Depot, this former train depot and historic Minneapolis landmark glows with renaissance revival elegance. Built in 1912, this historic mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1897, the Hewing Hotel is not shy about its history. Exposed brick and wooden beams adorn both venue and private spaces. Being right in the heart of Minneapolis, the venue also offers not shortage of views from its rooftop.

Mill City is an apt name for Minneapolis since it was once the flour milling capital of the world. The Mill City Museum was built in the ruins of the Washburn A Mill, which exploded in 1878 after a spark ignited flour dust during milling production. The gorgeous building is iconic in Minneapolis history and because of its scale, offers plenty of space to host a wedding.

Modern elegance is what comes to mind for this Minneapolis hotel. For larger weddings, the Millennium Hotel’s Grand Ballroom has 5,460 square feet of space with a capacity of 500 guests. For those looking for a view, “The Dome,” a glass enclosure on the top of the building, has panoramic views of Minneapolis skyline that go almost to the floor.
19. Minneapolis Institute of Art
The Minneapolis Institute of Art is completely different atmosphere compared to other venues the city has to offer. The Institute has large rooms with vaulted ceilings and classic architecture, but couples are able to explore the museum for photo sessions with famous works by artists like Van Gogh. And if the weather is agreeable, the museum’s garden is an excellent place to the tie the knot.
20. Nicollet Island Pavilion
One of the best things about Minneapolis are the abundance of outdoor spaces. Nicollet Island sits right in the middle of the Mississippi River and is in the heart of Minneapolis, with downtown to its west and the Northeast neighborhood to its east. The Pavilion itself is an historic site with large doors and brick walls with a huge open space. And if you catch it in summer, an outdoor ceremony is just perfect among the trees with the river flowing by.
21. The Riverside at Minneapolis Event Center
On the East side of the river sits The Riverside at Minneapolis Event Center. This historic building features a large atrium-like interior where abundant sunlight can flow through. Exposed brick and wooden beams line the exterior giving that industrial feel synonymous with Minneapolis. One of my favorite shots to take for any photo session is on the brick street right outside of the wedding venue.
22. Sinclair on Grand
Despite being built in 1905, the Sinclair on Grand in Northeast Minneapolis is one of the newer wedding venues on the block. Staying true to the history of the building, owners Adam and Christina kept the brick walls open and exposed wood beams across the ceiling. The huge windows and garage door at the front of the building allow for an abundance of natural light and ease-of-access.
23. The Swedish Institute
The home of Swedish immigrants, the Swedish Institute (also known as “The Castle”) is massive mansion sitting in the middle of Minneapolis serving as a nod to the Scandinavian heritage of many Minnesotans. The mansion, built in 1908, features dark wood accents, a grand staircase and foyer, a veranda, and countless other wings for receptions and ceremonies.
24. Theodore Wirth Chalet
Just North of Minneapolis sits the Theodore Wirth Chalet. This Swiss-style building is surrounded by the wilderness of Theodore Wirth park where guests can escape the hustle and bustle of downtown. The venue’s main space is in the fireplace room, where a brick fireplace is the centerpiece surrounded by dark wooden paneling.
25. Urban Daisy
Openness is the name of the game at Urban Daisy, located on the outskirts of Northeast Minneapolis. The building’s biggest feature is a zero-column vent space, allowing for room to move and no bad seat in the house. Large windows allow for bountiful natural light, and open ceilings can accommodate any decoration.

A classic centurian Minneapolis building with a rich history, construction on Watson Block was completed in 1902 by H.P. Watson and his partners. Originally designed for office spaces, the building changed hands and names over the course of 100 years, until today, where it stands as an event space with it’s original name. The gorgeous chandeliers and contemporary elements are a beautiful juxtaposition with the historic brick and timber aesthetic.

The Weisman Art Museum is hard to miss. The building’s unique shape makes even the savviest mathematician question their geometry skills.
