Introduction
Annie and Louis’s wedding at PAIKKA in St. Paul was a perfect blend of modern elegance and timeless romance. As a Minneapolis wedding photographer, capturing their special day was an absolute delight. PAIKKA, with its industrial-chic aesthetic and versatile spaces, provided a stunning backdrop that highlighted the couple’s love story.
Located in the St. Anthony neighborhood of St. Paul, PAIKKA is a woman-owned venue designed to bring modernity into the bones of an historic building. Wide-open spaces are framed by brick walls, and vaulted ceilings help the venue feel even bigger. Annie and Louis had no shortage of space for all of their loved ones.
The day began with the couple in their own spaces getting ready. I was able to capture some intimate moments with the mother-of-the-bride as she helped her daughter dress for the big day. Afterwards, we had the entire venue to ourselves for a first look and intimate pre-ceremony photos. Of course we went outside to enjoy cloudless blue skies.
With it being such a beautiful day, the couple opted to have their ceremony in the courtyard of PAIKKA. A live band played the bride down the aisle where Annie and Louis exchanged vows under dangling lights, a bright sun, and surrounded by their loved ones.
The celebration then moved inside where guests were met with a simple menu from Brasa and macaroons for dessert. After dinner and speeches, Annie and Louis danced the night away under twinkling lights hung from the rafters.
Congratulations, Annie and Louis!
