Stillwater, Minnesota, is known for its history and beautiful location on the St. Croix River. Emily and Derek decided to use that historic charm as a theme for their micro wedding.
The couple chose to tie the knot at the Lowell Inn, located smack in the middle of Stillwater. Built in 1927, the Inn was built in a Colonial style and kept many of the historic touches, such as the original flooring, antique furniture, and a stone fountain where the newlyweds exchanged vows.
Before the ceremony, Emily and Derek did a first look in one of Lowell Inn’s historic rooms with stained glass. After some couples portraits, we went outside with the wedding party and posed among the high Colonial pillars.
After their vows were exchanged, guests enjoyed a taco bar and listened to speeches from friends and family and the groom himself.
We capped off the celebration with portraits taken throughout downtown Stillwater, including some amazing portraits at the Stillwater Lift Bridge.
Of course, we couldn’t forget one of the most important guests! As the sun began to set, Emily, Derek, and their dog, Nemo, had their own photo session at a nearby park.
Congratulations, Emily and Derek!
