Justin + Bonnie | Como Conservatory Proposal Photography
Justin first contacted me about photographing his proposal to Bonnie via text message, and I was so excited! I’ve known Bonnie for years (I used to work for at her parents’s garden center), and I was so happy for them.
Justin and I planned everything in advance. Proposal photography can always be a little tricky — it’s important to have the locations, schedule and placements pre-determined. Bonnie loves plants and greenhouses, and Justin aptly chose to propose at the Sunken Garden at the Como Zoo & Conservatory in Saint Paul, MN.
The Proposal:
I arrived at the conservatory about 10 minutes before Justin planned to arrive with Bonnie. Como requires photography permits for all professional photography, so it was important that I got the permit before they arrived. Once I had the permit, I texted Justin that I was ready.
When they walked in, I hid my face behind my camera and pretended to take photos of the flowers. Bonnie didn’t see me, but Justin knew where to look. I gave him a nod, and then he bent down on one knee…she said yes! (As we both knew she would).
