Michelle & Andrew | Harriet Island Pavilion in St. Paul, MN | Rachel Lahlum Photography

St Paul Wedding Photography | Harriet Island Pavilion | Rachel Lahlum Photography

Across the river from downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota, sits the Harriet Island Pavilion. Built in the early 1940s, the pavilion is surrounded by a gorgeous park and sweeping views of the Mississippi River and Saint Paul’s downtown skyline. For Michelle and Andrew, it was the perfect backdrop for their wedding ceremony.

While many couples have a maid-of-honor and best man along with several others in the wedding party, Michelle and Andrew decided to have a big group of “Friends-of-Honor” who took photos with the newlyweds.

Given the day’s sunshine, the ceremony was held outside with the Mississippi roaring by and the skyscrapers of Saint Paul looking down.

After the ceremony, Michelle and Andrew sneaked indoors for a private sweetheart dance in the Pavilion, a grand room draped beautifully by their decoration team. After, they joined their guests for a lovely outdoor social hour.

When the sun began to set, we took advantage of the Harriet Island Pavilion’s surrounding park and gorgeous waterfront for intimate portraits of the couple. But one of my favorite images was of Andrew shaking a champagne bottle in front of the night lights of Saint Paul.

Congrats, Michelle and Andrew!
